Hey guys...so I have begun to feel like a broken record...I keep saying that I am gonna blog regularly-but NOW I REALLY AM!! ha! I decided I need something to keep me blogging regularly, like blogging about a book or particulat project...so one of my favorite books (that I haven't even finished yet) is The Success Principles by Jack Canfield - creator of the Chicken Soup Book series. The thing that I love so much about this book is that it seems so obviously practical! Mr. Canfield lays it out in such a way that anyone can understand his points and put them into practice-RIGHT AWAY! So, with that being said- I am going to blog one chapter, one time a week...so here we go, join me on this journey as we learn a thing or two about being successful in love, relationships and career or whatever else you want to succeed in! Grab the eBook, the hardback at your local booksore or snag it from amazon.com (that's where I purchased mine)
Chaper 1
"You must take responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself."
The quote that starts the chapter is fab!
I love that this chapter starts off by saying that you have to take responsibility for everything that happens in your life...GOOD AND BAD. I think it's easier to take responsibility (aka credit) for the good things than the bad. We have been taught from an early age that it's not your fault when thiongs don't work out how you would like ...and that it's ok to blame your family or lack of, finances, economy or insert whateverfitsyoursituation. So, first step is to OWN YOUR CRAP. I love that he covers about every excuse in the book on why we tell ourselves that we can't succeed (the blame game) and how to jump that hurdle. Holy cow, did most of those topics hit home with me..top 3: keep doing what you are doing and you'll get the same results, give up complaining, results don't lie. Okay, I've got some serious work to do! So from now on, I am owning it all...the good, bad, and flat out ugly! But now I have the tools to change that! Leave a comment on what you liked or learned! I'd love to hear your point of view!
Now My Food Tip:
So, I am OBSESSED ( that is putting it mildly) with pinterest. I found this recipe today and I put it on the menu for tomorrow. It's roasted shrimp, red pepper and feta. You can find it on womensday.com Enjoy!
